JoyCon Drift Fix and Tips for Nintendo Switch/Lite

Many of us are paranoid of the mighty “Joy Con Drift” and I know I’m one of them. We will be giving some tips here in order to prevent this or a workaround.

What is a Joy-Con Drift?

Joy-Con drift is an issue on Nintendo Switch or Lite that a movement is detected even when the user is not touching the thumbstick on the joy-con.

There are already reports that even a 4month old Nintendo Switch can have this Joy-Con drift issue. As of today, Nintendo offers free repair for this just reach out to the Nintendo Support.

Tips and Workaround

  • Stay away from dust – maybe dust particles are tucked under the thumbstick
  • Recalibrate your Joy-Cons in the System Settings
  • Update your Joy-Con Firmware
  • Replace the thumbstick
  • Buy a Pro Controller

Better battery life

The Nintendo Switch Lite has a longer battery life and that means longer playtime. This is proven and tested, well.. I got the Switch v1 and lite both played at the same time. After 3 hours of playing the Switch v1 already at 10% while the lite still at 30%.

Lighter that the original Nintendo Switch

Playing with the Nintendo Switch Lite for hours doesn’t make my hands uncomfortable unlike the original switch with just a few minutes, my hands were starting to feel uncomfortable because of its weight. In order to make it play with ease, I need to buy a case with hand grip to lessen the tension on my hands while playing.

Sharp and Vibrant display

Colors in the lite are more sharp and vibrant which makes your gaming experience incredible. Although the original switch has a bigger display it seems like there’s something missing..

Budget friendly

If you are on a tight budget but want to buy or play those trending games then the Nintendo Switch Lite is the perfect match for you. Priced at $199 you can now enjoy and play games with your friends.

Not dockable – no TV mode

You can’t connect and play the lite in TV mode.

*Tip: As of writing, there are some accessories today that the lite can be played in bigger screens. I’ll update this post once I found a legit store for it.

Some Games are not compatible

Unfortunatenately the lite is not compatible with other games, the reason? Lite can only support handheld gaming.

No vibrate or motion controls

During play, you can’t feel vibrate or games with motion that needs to do swings.

*Tip: There’s always way to have these, if you don’t mind adding extra money then buy a pro controller.
